GHS Orchestra "bats 1000" at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest!
The following GHS Orchestra students received a first division on a solo at the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, February 9, 2008. For the first time in GHS Orchestra history, every entry received the top rating. The orchestra members marked with an asterisk performed a class one solo by memory and thus qualified for the State Solo & Ensemble Contest in May.

Congrats to Edward Fretheim and Marcus Pyle on their selection to the Texas All-State Orchestra. All-State Orchestra is one of the highest honors that a student musician in the State of Texas can achieve. Ed and Marcus participated with other students from all over Texas at the TMEA Convention in San Antonio.

CONGRATS to the Garland High School members of the 2007-2008 TMEA REGION 3 ORCHESTRA. These students performed with the Region Orchestra on December 15, 2007 at J.J. Pearce High School.
